Is it possible the RV is intermittently sticking half way That could create the same symptoms especially the fact that shutting off the power & back on solved it. It is really wierd that it would do that immediately upon startup. FWIW, I have seen factory installed TXVs with the bulb mounted in about every position you can imagine, some insulated and some not. I service freezer merchandisers, now and again. Leer ice cube chests. Compressor on top, and coldwall evaporator. Many times, Ive arrived, and the suction line has been frosty. I get the impression, reading around, that a central AC cant dehumidify without cooling, because the condenser, which is what would heat the air in a dehumidifier, is outside, being cooled by outside air. The splitsytem idea seems like a good one. I dont think ductless would work because my house has 2 floors and ductwork would be needed to circulate the air well. My A/C coil needs to be replaced. My contractor recommends the condenser be replaced now too. Its 15 years old but works just fine. His reasoning is the new coil would be R22.
